Dread at the Control
This iconic Dread at the Control t-shirt was given to Joe Strummer of The Clash by Jamaican singer and producer Mikey Dread . Regarded as one of Reggae’s most influential and innovative performers, Dread collaborated with The Clash on several albums, including Sandinista and Black Market Clash, also the classic collaboration on The Clash ’s Bank Robber from 1980, with a tasty bit of dub on the end. Dread at the Controls was the name of a Mikey Dread album released on the Trojan label in 1979. I have no idea why they dropped the final 's' from the t-shirts design...but after extensive research I can exclusively reveal that all the replicas out there with said 's' are wrong!
