Glasgow Apollo - The Jam 1982
The Apollo was a music venue at 126 Renfield Street in Glasgow city centre, Scotland. It operated from 5 September 1973 until closure on 16 June 1985 and was Glasgow's leading music venue during this period. The Apollo was a re-brand of the previous Green's Playhouse in the same building. On Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th April 1982 The Jam played two concerts (supported by The Questions ) at the Apollo the first of which later appears in Live Jam and four tracks, Going Underground , Dreams of Children , That's Entertainment and Private Hell appeared on the live album Dig The New Breed . At the end of the year they commenced their farewell tour by playing the Apollo again for one last time...although Weller would return with his Style Council , including the very last gig at the venue ever.
