Hippodrome - Prodigy
The Hippodrome was the first really big club in Kilmarnock that brought in clubbers from out with the area. The building was initially the George Hotel (in George Street) until 1920 when it became the George Cinema and then latterly the George County Bingo Club in May 1961...it stayed as that until 1989 when it was then converted into the Hippodrome ...which then became EXPO and last of all ICE before falling into disrepair. There were some big names appeared at the club at its height including Prodigy and K-Klass ...the design on this tee is a replication of a flyer at the time.
